Bus - Melbourne is served by two bus routes: the number 2 Arriva bus, which operates between Swadlincote and Derby; and the Midland Classic Airway bus (number 9), which runs between East Midlands Gateway and Queen’s Hospital, Burton on Trent.

Cycle - we are but a few minutes bike ride off part of National Cycle Network Route 6 (including the Cloud Trail).

Train - our two nearest stations are Derby (7 miles), and East Midlands Parkway (10 miles).

Opening times

The Church is normally open from 9am to 5pm each day, closing a little earlier on Saturday afternoons between 3.30 and 4pm so that preparations can be made for the services the following day. Access is through both the North and South doors. There are blue ‘A’ boards outside when the church is open. You are welcome to look around our church between these times. There are various leaflets and guide books explaining some of the history of the church, our groups and what is on.

There are weekday services, and details can be found on our Church Services page.

On Sundays, we have services at 8am (Said Communion), 10:30am (Parish Communion) and 6:30pm (Evening Prayer - currently once per month). The church is normally open 20-30 minutes before the start of the service.

Disabled Access

The North door to the church (opposite the war memorial) has level access into the church, suitable for wheelchairs.

Toilet Facilities

Public toilet facilities with flat level access are near the Melbourne Tearooms. Go through the entrance into Melbourne Estate courtyard (opposite the war memorial), under the archway. The toilets are on the right-hand side. They are generally open during daylight hours.

When there is a service or event on in the church, the toilet facilities on the ground floor of Michael's House can be used. The entrance is to the right of the white Rectory garage. There is disabled access.

There is also a toilet in Church House (to the right of the entrance into Melbourne Pool). Please note that there are 2-3 steps into this building.
