St. Michael’s Players
The Players are a fairly disorganised and somewhat anarchic amateur dramatics group who have been entertaining Melbourne on stage and on screen for over 40 years, and raising many thousands of pounds for local, national and international chairities in doing so.
Over the years we have made people laugh and cry, in productions that have ranged from the impressively moving Murder in the Cathedral (performed in the church), to the off-the-shelf ‘Allo ‘Allo (at Melburne Assembly Rooms), the self-penned Murder at Melbourne Manor (in the grounds of Melbourne Castle) and, most recently, our movie Don’t Panic 2, our second tribute to Dad’s Army.
We often also take part in church services.
We write, produce, direct, stage and perform our own material, so we welcome anyone prepared to have a go at any of these things. Or, indeed, none of them.
