The Rectory

Standing opposite Melbourne Church, in Church Square but in clear sight of the main visitor walking route from the town to Melbourne Pool, is the very evident, and spacious four bedroomed house, set in a beautiful garden with stunning views across The Melbourne Pool (a natural 20-acre pool of water described in The Doomsday Book of 1085).

The Diocese has committed to the full renovation of the Rectory in time for the next incumbent.   Throughout the history of Melbourne Parish Church, Rectors have embraced the chance to live in close proximity to their church, visible to the community and tourists, in the heart of the town yet with the abundance of nature on their back doorstep.  It is intended that the building should, as far as possible, meet carbon neutral targets so that insulation, air source heating and updated facilities are all being addressed.

The Rectory has two reception rooms, a study with a secondary entrance from the attached Church House, kitchen, cloakroom. There are four bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms and separate shower room.  The house has a garage and there is also off-street parking for visitors.
